Easy Sloppy Joes
Equipment
- Frying Pan
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- ¼ cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
- ¼ cup onion, finely chopped
- ½ tsp granulated garlic
- 1 Tbs brown sugar
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup steak sauce
- 1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp beef base (optional)
- ¾ cup water
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a pan until cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Drain off most of the fat, and add the green bell pepper and chopped onion.
- Cook until the vegetables are cooked to your liking.
- Add in the garlic and brown sugar and stir to combine.
- Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil, then turn heat down and simmer for approximately 20-30 minutes until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Serve on buns.
Notes
Adjust this recipe to your family's taste. Sometimes I'll sweet relish instead of brown sugar.
