Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup onion, finely chopped
  • ½ tsp granulated garlic
  • 1 Tbs brown sugar
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup steak sauce
  • 1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp beef base (optional)
  • ¾ cup water

Instructions
 

  • Brown the ground beef in a pan until cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.
  • Drain off most of the fat, and add the green bell pepper and chopped onion.
  • Cook until the vegetables are cooked to your liking.
  • Add in the garlic and brown sugar and stir to combine.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
  • Bring to a boil, then turn heat down and simmer for approximately 20-30 minutes until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Serve on buns.

Notes

Adjust this recipe to your family's taste. Sometimes I'll sweet relish instead of brown sugar.
