Brown the ground beef in a pan until cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.
Drain off most of the fat, and add the green bell pepper and chopped onion.
Cook until the vegetables are cooked to your liking.
Add in the garlic and brown sugar and stir to combine.
Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
Bring to a boil, then turn heat down and simmer for approximately 20-30 minutes until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Serve on buns.
Notes
Adjust this recipe to your family's taste. Sometimes I'll sweet relish instead of brown sugar.
